1966 NFL Championship Team Signed Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers Football. We have all seen Green Bay Packers team-signed footballs from the 1960's, in fact Heritage Auctions presents numerous examples in this very auction. However, very rarely are the two teams from a particular NFL Championship represented on a single pigskin.
Offered here is a team-signed "Rawlings AB" regulation-sized football that has been signed by 1966 NFL Championship Game participants, the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys. The "Green and Gold" defeated the home team Cowboys during that historic game, which sent the Packers to Super Bowl I, and this piece features bold black ball-point ink from the world champs, and lighter quality ink from "America's Team."
Included are the following notables: Packers (has not been signed by Lombardi) - Marv Fleming, Willie Wood, Herb Adderly, Gale Gillingham, Doug Hart, Max McGee, Red Cochran, Jim Taylor, Bob Jeter, Bart Starr, Jim Grabowski, Henry Jordan, Willie Davis, Forrest Gregg, Elijah Pitts, Dave Robinson, Carroll Dale, Boyd Dowler, Jerry Kramer, Fuzzy Thurston, Lee Roy Caffey, Zeke Bratkowski, Ray Nitschke, Bob Long and others. Cowboys include, Dan Reeves, Jethro Pugh, Lee Roy Jordan, J.D. Smith, Don Perkins, Chuck Howley and others. Ball is painted on the white panel with "JANUARY 1, 1967 COWBOYS - PACKERS N.F.L. CHAMPIONSHIP GAME," while it exhibits moderate wear. A truly rare opportunity to obtain a signed ball from two of the most historic franchises in the league.
